Certified kosher Japanese matcha powder and prepared tea

Pure matcha is a single agricultural ingredient, but kosher shoppers may still look for reliable certification covering processing and packing.

Check the ingredient list

Pure matcha should list only matcha or green tea powder. Sweetened mixes may include sugar, milk ingredients, flavors or additives that require separate evaluation.

Look for certification

A recognized kosher symbol provides supervision over the certified product and facility. Confirm that the symbol applies to the exact item and package.

Consider equipment and packing

Certification can address shared equipment, processing aids and packing conditions that are not obvious from the front label.

Tay Leaf certification

Kyoto Teien is OU Kosher as well as USDA Organic and JAS Organic. It is pure matcha with no sugar, coloring, fillers or additives.

Café handling

A certified ingredient does not automatically make every finished café drink kosher. Milk, syrups, equipment and the establishment’s supervision all matter.
